A multidisciplinary visual creative building experiences that connect people, brands and stories. Across film, photography, sound and the new tools reshaping how we make. Exploring the intersection of storytelling, emerging technology & AI
Based in Lagos, Nigeria · Working across Africa and beyond
A working archive. Each project lists the role I played, the collaborators involved, the location and the year. Because how something was made matters as much as what was made.
I'm a multidisciplinary visual creative and creative director who builds visual experiences that connect people, brands and stories through cinematography, photography, sound design, visual art and emerging technology.
With over 17 years in the creative and media industry, I work across film, photography, branded content, documentaries, editorial projects, live events and digital media. My approach brings together visual storytelling, creative direction and media strategy. Transforming ideas into work that communicates, connects and leaves an impression.
Great visual storytelling is not just about what people see. It's about what they feel, understand and remember.
From concept and creative development through production, post-production and final delivery, I bring a hands-on understanding of the whole process. I work independently and collaboratively with brands, agencies, production teams, organisations and individuals. Developing work that is visually distinctive, culturally relevant and purposeful.
Based in Lagos, Nigeria, I bring an African perspective to global creative conversations while staying open to collaborations, productions and opportunities across Africa and internationally. I'm also actively exploring the intersection of creativity and artificial intelligence. Experimenting with tools that expand how we imagine, create and tell stories.
Whether it's a documentary, a brand campaign or a long-term content partnership. Here's how I work with teams, agencies, brands and institutions.
Developing the creative vision, visual language and storytelling approach for a project. From first conversation to final frame.
Determining how photography, film, design and storytelling can communicate a brand's message clearly and distinctly.
Developing content ideas, formats and rhythms around a brand's objectives and audience. For social, editorial, internal or broadcast.
Taking an idea from concept through production into a cohesive campaign. With the visual, editorial and sound assets to carry it.
Finding the human story behind a brand, organisation, person or idea. And building the format that lets it be told honestly.
Showreels, documentaries, commercials, corporate films, music videos, event films, interviews and branded content. From pre-production to final grade.
People, editorial, events, architecture, culture, portraits and documentary. Still imagery that carries the same intent as the film work.
Sound design, audio production, live sound, podcast production and music production. Treated as equal partners to the image.
AI-assisted visual concepts, image creation, creative workflows, AI + photography and AI + filmmaking. Explored thoughtfully, not as a gimmick.
Alongside my commercial and documentary work, I keep a personal visual-art practice. A slower, more reflective space where I photograph African culture, women, communities and the natural forms around us.
These series are shown as prints, in editions, and occasionally as installations. They sit between photography and visual art. Less about documentation, more about feeling.
I'm not interested in AI as a shortcut. I'm interested in it as a new material. Something to push against, work with, and use to open up forms of storytelling that weren't possible before.
The tools will keep changing. The question stays the same: does this help the story land harder?
Notes from productions, travels, workshops and experiments. Written slowly, published when there's something worth saying.
A field log on shooting a photo essay over water, and why morning light solves problems noon never can.
What you gain, what you lose, and why some of the best films in Africa are made by four people and a car.
Where AI genuinely speeds things up, where it quietly flattens your work, and the line I've drawn in my own practice.
On who gets to hold the camera, whose images survive, and what a Nigerian visual archive might look like if we built one now.
A production diary from a Lagos commercial. The schedule that broke, the fix that saved it, and what I'd do differently.
Notes on scope, value, saying no, and building a creative practice that survives the second year.
I speak on visual storytelling, creative entrepreneurship and the practical business of building a creative career from Africa. Available for conferences, university sessions, brand workshops and one-to-one mentorship.

Some engagements are direct commissions. Others are as a creative director, cinematographer or post-production partner within a larger team.
"Femi is one of the few creatives I've worked with who can hold both the creative vision and the production logistics in his head at once. Reliable, unflappable, and genuinely thoughtful about the story."
"We brought him in on a three-day shoot with a brief that kept shifting. He didn't flinch. The final film landed better than any of us had imagined in the room."
"Working with Femi felt less like hiring a director and more like gaining a creative partner. He understood the brief better than we did, and then improved on it."
"His professionalism under pressure is what stays with me. Two locations fell through on the morning of the shoot and he still delivered something extraordinary by evening."
"Femi has an instinct for the human beat inside a corporate story. He finds the moment that makes the whole thing land, and he waits for it."
"Creative thinking, reliability and quality. All three, consistently. That's rarer than it should be. He's now our first call for anything with a story at its centre."
Before we start anything, I like to understand where the work is really going. These are the questions I'll ask you, and why they matter.
Tell me about the story, the audience, the timeline and the budget. I read every brief personally and reply within 48 hours.
